We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist to work on a 1-year project to understand the impacts of environmentally driven changes in stock productivity on fisheries assessment and management of Northeast U.S. fish stocks. The postdoctoral researcher will develop a management strategy evaluation (MSE) simulation model to explore the impacts of long-term changes in stock productivity on the assessment and management advice, with a particular focus on defining biological references and the interactions and setting catch advice in a dynamic environment. This project is part of the Northeast Climate Integrated Modeling (NCLIM; https://github.com/Northeast-Climate-Integrated-Modeling) network, which is an interdisciplinary collaboration between academic and federal scientists focusing on improving fisheries decision-making in a dynamic environment. The position has a competitive annual salary plus benefits. Start date is February 1, 2026, and the position location is also flexible (ideally at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, but remote is a possible). To apply, submit a cover letter resume, and three references. Any questions should be sent to [email protected]. Review of applications will begin 12/1/2025 and will continue until filled.
