About The Position

Baylor University is seeking a Postdoc Research Associate in the Department of Environmental Science under the supervision of Dr. Gretchen Stokes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the applied ecology and an understanding of socio-ecological systems, tropical ecology, and sustainable development.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess indigenous perceptions of climate resilience and adaptive capacities in the Amazon to improve the development of integrated approaches to watershed management
  • Facilitate working groups across multiple indigenous communities and quantitatively analyze results to inform the understanding of indigenous capacities in a changing climate
  • Prepare at least two peer-reviewed publications, one federal grant proposal, and will also have opportunities to pursue additional research activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external research partners
  • Comply with University policies, safety regulations, and responsible conduct of research standards
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
