The Postdoctoral position at JPL focuses on conducting cosmology research relevant to Stage IV Dark Energy surveys, particularly utilizing data from the Euclid and Roman missions. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team within the Dark Sector group, engaging in research that explores the large-scale structure of the universe and its implications for dark matter and dark energy. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop a personal research program while contributing to significant scientific discoveries.

  • Conduct cosmology research relevant to Stage IV Dark Energy surveys.
  • Derive science results from Euclid large-scale structure data and prepare for Roman data analysis.
  • Work on the analysis pipeline from pixel-level images to cosmological parameter contours.
  • Select galaxy samples and construct catalogues of galaxies and their properties from mission data.
  • Run likelihood analyses using different data sets and test against various physics models.
  • Derive parameter constraints for cosmological models and produce forecasts for dark sector models.
  • PhD in Astrophysics or a related field (or near completion).
  • Experience in cosmology research.
  • Data analysis skills relevant to astrophysics.
  • Experience in dark sector cosmology research.
  • Experience with data analysis or modeling for Stage III or IV Dark Energy surveys.
