About The Position

The Postal Services Student worker performs tasks essential to the completion of University inbound mail sorting and delivering. The student worker must be able to help in areas where needed. This may include processing outgoing packages and cash handling.

Requirements

• Must qualify for the federal work study program.
• Well- developed communications skills.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of the United State Postal Service, UPS and FedEx.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• High school diploma required.
• Knowledge of Liberty University.
• Must be able to function in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
• Required to travel to local and campus locations.
• Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
• Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, stoop, and lift in order to conduct business.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the sorting of all incoming student and employee mail.
• Assist in the sorting of all incoming student and employee packages.
• Processing pre-paid outgoing packages.
• Deliver student packages and letter mail.
• Provide students with mailbox combinations or keys.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of sorted and delivered mail.
• Process outgoing packages.
• Accept Flames Cash, credit cards and handle cash.
• Assist with other LU Postal Service operations as needed.
