About The Position

Provide courteous and efficient customer service to students, faculty, and staff by assisting with the mailing and receiving of letters and packages through USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Amazon, Veho, and others. Maintain and reconcile a cash and stamp inventory of up to $2,500, ensuring all transactions fall within the required $5 tolerance. Accurately weigh, measure, and rate domestic and international parcels to determine correct postage based on USPS standards. Process money orders and accept passport applications in full compliance with USPS regulations and procedures. Clearly explain postal regulations, available services, and mailing options to help customers make informed decisions. Assist students with post office box assignments and usage, and guide them through secure package retrieval from the KUC Mail Locker system. Support daily mailroom operations by processing outgoing mail through the Pitney Bowes SendPro system and operating both the SendPro Meter and Smart Parcel tools for efficient handling of parcels. Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages, including secure locker placement. Serve as a backup for preparing and submitting the Master 1412 financial report, ensuring accuracy and adherence to USPS and university compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.
  • Three years of progressively responsible clerical, customer service, and/or post office experience to include responsibility in the handling of cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Successful completion of 90% or greater on the Passport acceptance test through the US Department of State training within the probationary period.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Post Office, Postal Contract Station, Mail Center in a Corporate environment, with related customer service abilities.
  • Ability to process passport applications is desired but not necessary.
