About The Position

PenTeleData, the industry leader in data transport, Internet, Wi-Fi, security and consultative services throughout the Northeast, is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer! If you have a strong desire to grow professionally and learn the access side of the service provider infrastructure then this is the spot for you! As a Sales Engineer with PenTeleData, you will be the post-sales technical side for our fiber customers. You will interact daily with customers as their technical lead in configurations and service implementation as well as interfacing with the PenTeleData Sales team. You will interact with a range of Cisco products and services to provide the solutions our customers are looking for.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 Years experience in related field.
• Valid PA Driver's License and good driving record.
• Established residency in Pennsylvania.
• Basic networking knowledge including understanding of the TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, IPv6.
• Basic understanding of IP routing (Static and BGP).
• Some understanding of how an HFC network operates from the data side.
• Familiarity with DHCP and how it works.
• Ability to present facts and ideas verbally and written in a logical, sequential, and understandable manner.
• Ability to remain technical while using layman terms with non-technical customers.
• Some experience with Cisco CLI (IOS, XE, XR) languages and WebUIs (ASDM, CCP).
• Must be self-motivated and able to operate with little supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Network Security experience from designing to implementing policies.
• Working experience with SDWAN technologies.
• Understanding NAT and how to configure it on Cisco devices; this includes Static and Dynamic NAT and the ability to explain it to customers.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Meraki and ASA product line and configuration of VPN's.
• Understanding of the Cisco ISR product line and Cisco 8000/9000 series.
• Familiarity Ethernet and Metro Ethernet standards.
• Ability to present to groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Act as the post-sales technical lead for fiber customers.
• Interact daily with customers for configurations and service implementation.
• Interface with the PenTeleData Sales team.
• Provide solutions using a range of Cisco products and services.
