About The Position

Liberty POST is currently seeking a Pediatric Social Worker to provide direct services through our Early Intervention (EI), Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), and Committee on Special Education (CSE) programs, as well as our private programs. We have immediate full-time or part-time positions available throughout Rochester, NY. Since 1994, Liberty POST has offered a range of high-quality and individualized services, originally starting as a speech-language practice in Syracuse, NY, and expanding to provide various services across New York State and New Jersey. Our team consists of over 500 professionals who work collaboratively to provide evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play, emphasizing the importance of a child's natural learning environment and the unique strengths and needs of families in our diverse population. As a Pediatric Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting children and families in crisis intervention, behavior management, parenting support, play therapy, resource linkage, and therapeutic interventions. You will oversee the Behavioral/Classroom Support-BIP Team, complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for center-based children, and implement ongoing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum in classrooms. Your role will also involve conducting tours for new preschool referrals, maintaining confidentiality of client information, and providing a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment during therapy sessions. You will work directly with children to teach age-appropriate coping strategies and collaborate with team members to follow classroom management strategies and individual behavioral supports. In addition to direct service responsibilities, you will communicate regularly with the leadership team, provide training for staff and families, and participate in conferences and workshops related to early childhood development. You will also serve as a mandated reporter, ensuring the safety and well-being of children by reporting any suspicions of abuse or neglect. Your ability to access and utilize the Liberty POST website and Point for necessary information and documentation will be crucial in this role. You will maintain progress records for children on your caseload and provide timely communication to parents regarding their child's progress. Overall, this position requires a commitment to promoting diversity, maintaining professional boundaries, and representing Liberty POST in a professional manner.
