About The Position

The Post-Harvest Technician II provides manual labor to support the operations within the post-harvest department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. The Post-Harvest Technician II position will primarily support the Drying, Curing, and Trimming departments with day-to-day production tasks and sanitation responsibilities. In addition, as determined by business need, Post-Harvest Technician II team members may be flexed to provide support in harvest.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient and achieve goals in all Post Harvest Technician I skill assessments
  • Must be active in the Post-Harvest Technician I role for a minimum of 9 months to qualify for Post-Harvest Technician II role
  • Maintain good discipline and attendance standards
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Punctual
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive movement, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • At times, the entire shift may be spent standing
  • Requires repetitive hand, wrist, finger and elbow movement
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

Responsibilities

  • Participates in all steps of the post-harvest process including intake, drying, curing, and trimming
  • Maintain compliance using a centralized tracking system
  • Documenting testing results through reports and logs
  • Inputting data into the company database
  • Ensure all products are accounted for according to company policy and procedures
  • Continual quality control assessment as product moves through the process
  • Maintaining and operating all equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Ensure an overall positive, safe and clean environment
  • Assist in training Post-Harvest Technician I team members
  • Perform various manual cross-department job duties as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
