About The Position

Infosys is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and proactive PostgreSQL DBA with strong Leadership and technical skills. He/she will also assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration, maintenance, security best practices, create SOPs and other documentation, anticipate problems, and suggest solutions.

Requirements

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• At least 4 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Hands-on experience in configuring and supporting replication.
• Experience in building large database infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with backup, restore, and PITR.
• Good experience on PostgreSQL architectures.
• Working experience on PostgreSQL installation.
• Experience with switchover/failover tasks.
• Proficient with SQL, Shell, or Python languages.
• Ability to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.

• Experience deploying and managing PostgreSQL on AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Experience maintaining different clients on AWS and monitoring them using CloudWatch.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration, maintenance, and security best practices.
• Create SOPs and other documentation.
• Anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
• Configure and support replication using different replication tools.
• Build large database infrastructure supporting a high volume of transactions in a mission-critical environment.
• Perform backup, restore, and PITR.
• Maintain PostgreSQL architectures and understand their components.
• Install PostgreSQL and perform upgrades (minor and major versions).
• Conduct scheduled maintenance activities to improve query response time.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day operations and issues.
• Support incident, task, and other BAU related activities.
• Monitor and respond to alerts.
• Provide on-call support on a rotational basis for P1/P2 incidents.
