Dr. Liu’s NIH-funded research program focuses on the role of MAP kinase phosphatases in host defense against microbial infection. His research has established MAP kinase phosphatase (MKP)-1 as one of the most important negative regulators of inflammation and a potential target for a variety of inflammatory diseases. Conducts research, designs experiments, analyzes data, and presents findings under the mentorship of an established principal investigator or Senior Research Scientist. Appointment is a maximum of 5 years in length.
