About The Position

The Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Post-Doctoral Scholar to join their team under the mentorship of Dr. Pamela Hull. This full-time position is designed for individuals who have recently completed a PhD, DrPH, or other doctoral degree in public health, sociology, psychology, or a related field within the last five years. The role offers an intensive mentored training experience focused on community-engaged research, implementation science, quality improvement, and the application of evidence-based guidelines for cancer prevention and control. Key areas of focus include the HPV vaccine, cancer screenings, and patient navigation during cancer treatment. As a Post-Doctoral Scholar, you will engage in various aspects of community engagement and research projects. This includes assisting with data collection and analysis, developing intervention content, preparing measurement tools and study protocols, and collaborating with community partners. You will also be responsible for planning and implementing dissemination activities, preparing scientific manuscripts as both lead author and co-author, presenting research findings at conferences, and submitting at least one funding application. The position emphasizes the importance of a demonstrated interest in implementation science, cancer prevention and control, health disparities, and health behavior interventions. This position requires a fully onsite work arrangement, and candidates must be prepared to work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with some weekends and evenings as needed.
