The Suicide and Trauma Reduction Initiative (STRIVE) at The Ohio State University College of Medicine is recruiting postdoctoral fellows this year. STRIVE postdoctoral fellows have a unique opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team science environment with multiple principal investigators across several projects. The STRIVE team has expertise in clinical trials, quantitative modeling, in-clinic and remote psychophysiological data collection (e.g., heart rate variability and electrodermal activity), computerized cognitive assessment, implementation science, and ecological momentary assessment. STRIVE research is funded by the Department of Defense (DOD), National Institute of Health (NIH), foundations, and private donations. Prior postdoctoral fellows have gone on to secure research and clinical positions in academic and VA settings. Pathways for transitioning to faculty positions at OSU are available. The Post Doctoral Scholar will receive specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in a research laboratory within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health; plans, designs, and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of suicide and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DOD); performs analysis of data and prepares results of research for publication; actively participates in the recruitment and interview of prospective study participants; creates stimulus materials and performs testing of human subjects; assists PI with grant proposals to obtain outside funding from state and federal agencies; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods.
