About The Position

This position involves investigating the role of exosome biology and epigenetic regulation in postoperative pain. The research utilizes an integrated approach combining molecular and in vivo techniques, with the goal of advancing both basic research and novel therapeutic strategies to better understand and treat pain. The role requires working independently, being self-motivated, and possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This is a grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Neuropharmacology, molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or a related field
  • Experience working with extracellular vesicles and rodent models
  • Experience working with rodent models of pain, molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Expected to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments proposed in the NIH grant
  • Generate and test mouse models of pain
  • Isolate and characterize small extracellular vesicles
  • Determine gene and protein expression
  • Analyze data and write manuscript for publication
  • Analyze mouse behavior testing data
  • Generate figures for publication in scientific journals
  • Write manuscript
