About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Plant Protein at Louis Dreyfus Company is a full-time role focused on evaluating, purifying, and characterizing novel plant proteins. The position involves designing and executing experiments to investigate the physico-chemical and functional properties of plant proteins, collaborating with various teams, and mentoring research associates. Requirements

• PhD in protein chemistry, food science, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemistry, biology, food ingredients process technology, or related fields.
• Good understanding of (plant) protein chemistry and functionality.
• Experience in methods and equipment used to assess protein physicochemical and functional properties.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive original ideas, articulate them clearly, and design experiments to test them.
• Ability and desire to work effectively in a team, leading and mentoring research associates.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to investigate the physico-chemical and functional properties of various plant proteins, focusing on storage time and conditions.
• Perform data visualization and statistical analysis of experimental results, interpreting and communicating findings to the R&D team and business unit.
• Collaborate with process engineering, analytics, and product development teams.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in plant protein research, mentoring and developing internal talent.
