About The Position

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Park-Min at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, USA. Our lab focuses on identifying the pathways that control the formation and activation of osteoclasts, the specialized cells that break down bone, with the goal of identifying better ways to prevent the bone destruction that occurs in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoporosis, and destructive bone metastases. Ongoing studies include identification of novel players and regulatory mechanisms of osteoclastogenesis and characterization of osteoclast-specific signature in metabolic bone diseases. We apply cutting edge cellular and molecular techniques including genome-wide sequencing and use various mouse models to accomplish the study. Please see the detailed projects in our lab website. Qualified candidate must have a recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D in immunology, metabolism, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, bone biology or a related field and have a record of peer reviewed publications. Strong expertise in immunology, metabolism, molecular biology techniques, biochemical and cell signaling techniques and manipulating genetic mutant mice is preferred. High levels of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Ideal candidates must have good written/oral communication skills in English. PhD candidates expected graduation soon are also encouraged to apply. Full applications including curriculum vitae and expected availability date should be submitted via
