About The Position

The researcher will lead laboratory and field investigations into the breakdown and transport of microfibers in water and sediment, as well as their interaction with associated contaminants. The Postdoctoral researcher will conduct engineering research, manage projects, and assist the Director of the CNR in the implementation of projects led by CNR. The postdoc will communicate the findings through reports and papers at various levels of detail.

Requirements

• PhD in Environmental, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the university's discretion.

• Demonstrated ability in writing articles for publication in top journals.
• Excellent communication skills to mentor graduate students and interact with scientists/engineers in other fields.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research in the field of Environmental Engineering, particularly on the environmental fate of microfibers and associated contaminants.
• Design and implement laboratory and field experiments to evaluate microfiber breakdown and transport in aquatic and sediment systems.
• Write articles for publication in top journals or related.
• Assist or lead projects at CNR according to the scope of the project from the funding agencies.
• Prepare technical and financial progress reports for the projects led by them.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students with experimental research and technical writing.
• Interact with scientists/engineers from engineering organizations or in other fields.
• Assist the Center Director in writing proposals related to civil, environmental engineering.
• Assist in proposal submissions on Streamlyne and any other federal and state systems according to the associated Request for Proposals.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of CNR.
