The successful candidate will work in the Analytical Protein Chemistry program of Dr. Samira Feyzi. The postdoc will focus on conducting and developing research on proteins, especially plant proteins. The position requires decision making, problem solving, and method development skills on protein extraction optimization, fractionation, purification, characterization, binding properties, modification, and application in food systems. Also a sloid knowledge and research experience on chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, GC/MS, GC/MS-O) and proteomics is required.This appointment involves developing instrumental methods for enhancing proteins, especially plant proteins, functionalities and application in food products. Experience and willingness to learn Proteomics and/or flavoramics, chromatography, and spectroscopy methods, instruments, and software are required. The postdoctoral research associate will work with undergraduate and graduate students, as well. Candidates should be wellorganized and experienced in working in research labs and have good communication and teamwork skills. The position will initially be available for 1 year with renewal based on availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
