The Bou-Nader lab at Emory University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team to understand how RNA structures control genome architecture thus regulating gene expression and DNA damage/repair. The successful candidate will use cryoEM and cryoET to understand mechanistically how RNA impacts the structure of chromatin and recruits proteins to specific locations on the genome. The project involves grid preparation and screening, data collection and image processing using the Emory cryoEM core and our lab's cluster (200 TB and 8 GPU). The applicant will also work with cryoEM/ET national centers (such as NCCAT) to collect data on a high-end Krios. The project is ideally suited for a candidate aiming to transition to an independent investigator (PI) position as they will have the opportunity to pioneer a new imaging method paving new research to understand genome regulation and maintenance to kick start their independent lab.
