About The Position

The Postdoctoral Fellow duties will include, but are not limited to, performing in silico molecular modeling of proteins and their ligands; writing animal protocols for mouse colonies; assisting with in vivo experiments; and performing Western blots, PCR, and human cell culture. The Postdoctoral Fellow should have expertise using microscopes, including confocal and auto-scanning microscopy, and will prepare buffers while assisting with general laboratory techniques. Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory safety manuals and equipment, and attending lab meetings. Qualified candidates with a strong interest in collaborative, translational research are encouraged to apply!

Requirements

• Ph.D, M.D., or equivalent in a Bioscience or Bioinformatics, or a related field required.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of Bioinformatics experience (including education).
• At least 3 years of Biology (wet-lab) experience (including education).
• Experience in neurobiology and protein aggregation.

Responsibilities

• Manage C. elegans strains and mouse colonies.
• Assist with in-vivo experiments.
• Perform protein isolations and Western blots.
• Conduct PCR amplifications.
• Perform culture and assay of human cells.
• Assist with other laboratory procedures.
• Write animal protocols.
• Compile data obtained for analysis.
• Perform in silico molecular modeling of proteins and their ligands.
• Order supplies and attend lab meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
