About The Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas seeking a motivated and skilled candidate to join our team and contribute to advancing research in electronic packaging and thermal management. The successful candidate will: 1. Conduct independent and collaborative research, contributing to the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles. 2. Collaborate with the faculty mentor to prepare proposals for research funding and commercialization opportunities. 3. Mentor and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students, fostering a productive research environment. 4. Oversee research facilities to ensure the lab and equipment operate efficiently and safely. This is a two-year position, with the potential for renewal, contingent upon performance and funding availability. The position is expected to begin on January 2, 2026. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to maintain a collegial, harmonious working environment are essential requirements.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in general office software.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a strong peer-reviewed publication record, with two to three years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Experience in CFD (computational fluid dynamics) tools and analysis
  • Thermomechanical modeling with FEA tools such as ANSYS, or similar
  • Fluid mechanics and Heat transfer experimentation and thermal measurements
