About The Position

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is seeking a dynamic, motivated postdoctoral trainee with expertise in integrative physiology, neuroscience, toxicology, or a combination of those fields and a keen interest in the impacts of climate change on health. The position will involve a combination of lab-based research including the use of rodent models, epidemiological training, and application of bioinformatic approaches. The candidate will lead a project focused on employing state-of-the-art technologies, such as automated home-cage monitoring, wireless telemetry, and bioinformatics to model the health impacts of climate change. This will involve developing heat exposure protocols with the ultimate goal of providing a well-characterized platform for understanding the health consequences of heat exposure across all bodily systems. The role will require collaboration with other researchers and may involve presenting findings at conferences and publishing results in scientific journals. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that addresses critical public health issues related to climate change. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in independent research while also contributing to the broader goals of the NIEHS. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to scientific excellence and innovation.
