The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Medicine's Renal-Electrolyte Division is seeking a postdoctoral associate who will focus on an exciting new research project. This project will focus on engineering a 3D bioprinted kidney proximal tubule to replicate kidney function. This model system will be used to investigate how genes, drugs, and diet affect proximal tubule function. The results will be verified in an animal model system. The postdoctoral associate will spend their full-time conducting research in collaboration with the PI and co-mentors, as well as attending regularly scheduled research project meetings. They will publish at least two journal articles as first author and be co-author on reviews and other manuscripts. The postdoctoral associate is expected to be able to supervise trainees within the lab as well as attend regular journal clubs and lab meetings and any other assignments that the principal investigator may request.
