About The Position

The department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Post Doctoral Associate to work onsite on the UHealth campus. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. The Post Doctoral Associate will receive training in clinical neuropsychological assessment with a diverse patient population that will include neurologically and psychiatrically impaired individuals. The Post Doctoral Associate will collaborate with the faculty and staff of UMBH and the UM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Requirements

  • MD or Ph.D. in relevant field
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Evaluate patients from the University of Miami, Clinical Research Building and Mental Health Hospital Center, JMH-Adult-Outpatient Psychiatry Clinics on a weekly basis.
  • Undertake consultations from inpatient geropsychiatry ward.
  • Attend weekly didactic trainings & supervision.
  • Supervising pre-doctoral externs from the Neuropsychology service on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with ongoing research projects at the Neuropsychology Assessment Clinic (CRB and CNSA ).
