About The Position

The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (abl.web.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a postdoctoral position to help lead a new and highly collaborative line of research designed to assess the structure and function of Achilles subtendons in patients with Achilles tendinopathy. Our interdisciplinary team spanning UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Delaware will integrate advanced in vivo techniques, including novel biomechanical sensors and cutting-edge medical imaging, with state-of-the-art modeling approaches to enhance understanding of anatomic variability in Achilles tendinopathy toward more effective, personalized clinical interventions.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in an area related to human movement biomechanics.
  • Previous research and lab experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Research experience and technical skills in Achilles tendon structure/function relations.
  • Quantitative MRI experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research on the structure and function of Achilles subtendons in patients with Achilles tendinopathy.
  • Integrate advanced in vivo techniques and medical imaging with modeling approaches.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team from UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Delaware.
