The Tsai Lab at the University of Virginia School of Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in biophysics and structural biology to study the molecular mechanisms of mitochondrial ion transport. The project combines cryo-EM, membrane protein biochemistry, and functional reconstitution assays to elucidate how ion transporters and channels regulate mitochondrial physiology and disease. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in biophysics, structural biology, or a related field, and have experience in protein purification, crystallography, cryo-EM, or membrane protein reconstitution. The position offers an interdisciplinary environment, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities for collaboration and career development. This is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. This position will sponsor applicants for work visas. This position is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The position will remain open until filled.
