The UNC Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases (IGHID) is recruiting an exceptional candidate for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the genomic epidemiology of infectious diseases. The fellow will join a dynamic group of investigators in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Ecology Lab (IDEEL; www.ideelresearch.org) who are conducting translational research projects on a range of pathogens across sites in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The fellow's primary role will be to participate in malaria genomics studies occurring in multiple countries in Africa, including supporting an ICEMR. They will be responsible for conducting population genetic analyses using data generated at UNC and our partner institutions. The project will involve regular interaction with investigators at study sites at the University of North Carolina, Brown University and our overseas collaborators. The post may involve international travel. The fellow will also have opportunities to participate in IDEEL's other active projects. The fellow can expect to develop new skills, to conduct meaningful translational research, and to have opportunities for authorship and career development.
