About The Position

We are seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate here at University of North Carolina, School of Medicine,Department of Pharmacology, Roth Laboratory . The postdoctoral will be involved in planing, developing and performing small and large scale screens for a specific drug targets including many GPCR’s according to current protocols and developing new ones to address further questions and promote drug discovery. The main duties for this position will include performing pharmacological drug testing using radioligand binding, functional (cell-based) assays using high throughput screening ( HTS ) platforms already implemented in the lab. The experiments will be conducted by the researcher; at times as part of a team but, for the vast majority as an individual. Results will be collected and analyzed by the postdoc then presented at the lab meetings, research conferences or for publications in research journals.

Requirements

  • working knowledge of GPCR pharmacology
  • working knowledge of in vitro pharmacology (e.g. radioligand binding, second messenger assays)
