About The Position

The Post Doctoral Research Associate position at the University of Wyoming's School of Pharmacy is a temporary role aimed at individuals who have recently completed their doctoral degree. The primary focus of this position is to conduct advanced research in transdermal drug delivery systems, contributing to the development of innovative formulations that enhance drug delivery efficiency and patient outcomes. The role involves collaboration with faculty mentors, independent research, and opportunities for professional development through publications and grant writing.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral Degree is required for this position, however, consideration will be given to applicants that are currently pursuing their Doctoral Degree and will complete the degree prior to starting work
  • Ph.D. in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with formulation development for transdermal or topical formulations
  • Experience with analysis of these formulations for their biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics properties and pharmacological activity
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as analysis, and characterization of topical/transdermal formulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nanoparticles will be an added advantage
  • Experience in QBD software for formulations will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research, analyzing data, and designing experiments independently
  • Prepare experimental design and optimization of formulation
  • Writing projects and scholarly publications
  • Maintaining and managing the laboratory
  • Ensuring safety compliance and providing training
  • Keeping inventory and managing the lab
  • Conduct literature reviews to stay updated on transdermal drug delivery advancements
  • Develop experimental protocols and standard operating procedures for transdermal drug delivery systems research
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment for formulation characterization
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals/funding applications to secure financial support for ongoing and future research projects in the lab
  • Provide mentorship and training to students
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects related to drug delivery
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for research involving human or animal subjects
