About The Position

The Post-Doctoral Research Associate position at the University of Wyoming involves leading a research project funded by the US Department of Energy. Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry is required.
  • Experience in inorganic synthesis and solid state characterization.
  • Experience in synthesis and characterization of inorganic coordination complexes.
  • Record of scholarly publishing.

  • Experience with synthesis and characterization of metal complexes.
  • Experience in actinide selective coordination chemistry.
  • Experience in safe handling, storage, and waste of radioactive material.
  • Experience in crystal growth and screening.
  • Experience in spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, IR, X-ray diffraction).
  • Experience in electrochemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DOE-funded research project on actinide chemistry.
  • Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and reports to funding agencies.
  • Supervise work by undergraduates and graduate students in the Hill/Rogers laboratory.
  • Collaborate with other students, faculty, and researchers in the Department of Chemistry.
  • Characterize synthesized f-element complexes using various techniques.
  • Manage collaboration in transuranic chemistry with the Colorado School of Mines.
