When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.Position Summary The Division of Nephrology/Department of Medicine seeking an experienced post-doctoral fellow/Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate, biology to advance the cutting-edge projects that are key to our goals. This individual will become a key member of Dr. Zsengeller's team to work collaboratively on our preeclampsia/OB/GYN platform projects and to develop and optimize in-vitro/in-vivo experiments to test various drug candidates. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work at the leading edge of preeclampsia pharmacology and immunology.Candidates with extensive in-vitro and in-vivo research background in biology with a keen interest in learning new techniques and/or expanding their experience in preeclampsia are encouraged to apply. The candidate should be scientifically motivated, capable of conducting experiments independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree or M.D.
• 0-1 year of postdoctoral research experience in academic or industrial lab setting, and/or teaching assistantship in a university setting, and/or residency, and/or clinical duties beyond that of the qualifying doctoral degree.

Responsibilities

• You will collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate various small-molecule drug candidates using in vivo preeclampsia models.
• Designing and performing blood pressure measurement in mice by CODA tail-cuff system
• Able to work with pregnant mice and assess pregnancy outcomes
• Performing ELISA to measure antibody responses and inflammatory markers
• Performing tissue staining and microscopy, as well as electron microscopy and functional EM to analyze mitochondrial dysfunction in preeclampsia
• Determining the effects of various immunomodulatory therapeutic molecules on transgene expression and durability
• Reading literature and proposing new ideas and solutions
• Interacting with cross-functional teams and presenting data in small and large group settings

• As a member of the research team, actively pursues research under the supervision of a principal investigator while developing skills for independent work. (essential)
