The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff. A full-time Post Doc Fellow position is available in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. A full-time Post Doctoral Fellow staff position is available in the epidemiology laboratory of Katherine Sabourin. The laboratory conducts field-based research and applies advanced statistical methods and a multidisciplinary approach to identify the factors leading to reactivation of Kaposi's sarcoma herpesvirus, the etiological agent of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), in an effort to reduce KS morbidity and mortality.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in Epidemiology or Related Field.
• Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research experiments in cancer and pediatric epidemiology, including analyzing longitudinal serological responses, assessing viral methylation, and characterizing oral microbiome compositions using advanced statistical methods.
• Sample inventory management and sample shipping.
• Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas.
• Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and other presentations of research results.
• Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
• Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
• Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
• May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
• Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.
