About The Position

Affiliate adjunct faculty position teaching primarily adult medical-surgical and fundamentals clinical and laboratory courses, working with adult students in an accelerated post-baccalaureate nursing program. Most courses are hybrid with clinical experiences and skills intensives. This position will have face-to-face teaching in clinical and the skills lab 2-3 times a week. An Affiliate Adjunct is an adjunct faculty member on a teaching-intensive one-year contract for between 24 and 32 load credits. The salary range for this position is $40,125 to $53,500, depending on load.

  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing required; clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty welcome.
  • A Master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • A clinical focus with practice in adult medical-surgical nursing care setting is required.
  • Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working with diverse individuals or groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in clinical settings; specifically adult medical/surgical (inpatient acute care settings) and fundamentals (TCU settings). Other specialty settings as qualified.
  • Teaching in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
  • Some online teaching in hybrid skills and clinical courses.
  • Evaluation of students in clinical and skills settings, including performance exams.
  • Contributing to teaching team meetings, curriculum projects, and office hours (other faculty responsibilities like advising and University committee work are not expected for this position).
  • Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline.
