About The Position

PACU RN's monitor post-operation vital signs, levels of consciousness, and assure patients safely wake from anesthesia after surgery. PACU RN's treat pain, nausea, and other patient post-op symptoms, and any side effects of anesthesia. PACU RN's work in the post-Anesthesia care unit at a hospital; can also be known as the recovery room.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Must pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN
  • Active state RN license required
  • ACLS, CPAN, and PALS certifications often required
  • Recent experience required

  • Ensure patients safely wake from anesthesia

  • Manage side effects of anesthesia
