Extension’s Positive Youth Development Institute empowers Wisconsin youth, and the communities supporting them, to thrive. To fulfill this promise, we place youth leadership, in partnership with supportive adults, 4-H clubs, and community organizations, at the center of our work. Based in Rock County, the Positive Youth Development Educator delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational programming to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget. The position's primary focus will be Career and College Readiness. Our Career and College Readiness programs assist youth in transitioning from adolescence to adulthood with the necessary abilities, skills, and mindsets to navigate life's opportunities and challenges. While the Educator will prioritize the programmatic focus above, they will also serve as a conduit for Rock County communities to access other Youth Development and Extension resources as needs arise. In addition, the Educator will contribute to statewide efforts related to youth engagement. County Location The main office for this position is located in Janesville, WI and the primary programming focus throughout Rock County; however, some programming may also be conducted over a broader geographical area. In Person It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated partner work location. Evening/Weekend Work This position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served. Travel Expectations It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions.
