About The Position

Portuguese Enrichment – Teach Portuguese Language and Culture. Reports To: Falmouth Community School Coordinator Title: Portuguese Teacher 2-10 hours per week (after school hours) 1-4 hours per week (evening adult classes) Position Summary: Share the Portuguese Language and Culture with students K – 6 th grade at Mullen Hall, Teaticket, E. Falmouth, North Falmouth and Morse Pond). Offer adult classes in the evenings.

Requirements

Speak Portuguese and English.
Experience working with children.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with students.
Ability to be independent and be a team member.

Responsibilities

Plan a variety of early learning and activities for children who want to learn the Portuguese language.
Exhibit strong leadership skills and feel comfortable leading activities in front of a group.
Set up, prepare supplies, facilitate, and clean up after the session is over.
Be organized and prepared for each weekly lesson plans.
Provide and collect sign-in sheets of all participants and send them weekly to the coordinator along with playgroup facilitator time sheets.
Communicate with families in a positive nonjudgmental manner.
Model reading, facilitate conversation, and promote developmentally appropriate play activities for children in the Portuguese language.
Provide skills in both working collaboratively and independently.
Maintain attendance and other forms.
Performs other duties as assigned by the coordinator.
