Portuguese (Brazil) Data Quality Analyst - WA based
About The Position
Welo Data is seeking Data Quality Analysts for Project Perseus. This role is for an experienced QA professional who knows how to mentor others and maintain a high bar for data integrity. The Data Quality Analyst acts as the Quality Gatekeeper, bridging the gap between Data Labeling Associates (DLAs) and Team Leads to ensure that human feedback for cutting-edge Arabic AI models is not only accurate but world-class. The mission involves leading the quality loop through various responsibilities including auditing, tactical support, onboarding, coaching, workflow orchestration, and providing strategic insights.
Requirements
- 2–4 years in data annotation, QA, content quality, or human-in-the-loop (HITL) workflows.
- Professional-level proficiency in Portuguese (Brazil) and a University Degree (Bachelor’s or higher).
- B2 level or superior English to handle stakeholder syncs and technical reporting.
- Prior experience auditing or reviewing the work of others; you know how to coach without micromanaging.
- A high bar for quality and the ability to stay consistent while guidelines shift in real-time.
- Familiarity with safety, compliance, or policy-driven evaluation in a GenAI context.
Responsibilities
- Audit the work of DLAs, providing structured, actionable feedback to drive team-wide improvement.
- Act as the first line of defense for the team—answering complex linguistic questions and interpreting evolving guidelines.
- Lead hands-on training for new associates, helping them navigate the nuances of Arabic dialects and AI safety.
- Monitor queues and identify blockers, escalating risks to Team Leads before they impact the program.
- Spot high-level patterns in both human and model behavior, contributing directly to the evolution of project guidelines.
