About The Position

The Portfolio Manager will manage a book of investment accounts generally involving client servicing and being a resource for Advisors to assist them with questions. The Portfolio Manager is expected to participate in the oversight the Wealth Management investment strategy. This position is an individual contributor role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or finance related studies.
  • 5-10 years previous experience in wealth or investment management or advanced credentials.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or relevant industry certifications are preferred, but not required (i.e. MBA, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst), etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assists in development of asset allocation and investment programs tailored to individual client objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Maintains active communication with clients and advisors, providing ongoing support in managing high-net-worth client relationships and prospects.
  • Recommends appropriate investment products and services, based on objectives, risk tolerance and optimal asset allocations.
  • Monitors and communicates the performance of individual accounts and investment strategies.
  • Stays current on recommended amendments to approved lists and buy/sell recommendations for selected strategies.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends by maintaining awareness of new investment strategies and instruments through regular contact with industry professionals and personal research.
  • Contributes content for investment newsletters, internal/external information pieces and presentations in collaboration with third party information sources.
  • Effectively communicates and promotes our investment philosophy to clients, prospects and centers of influence.
  • Identifies opportunities for additional product cross-selling to existing clients.
  • Develops and maintains a referral network of internal and external sources for additional sales opportunities.
  • Completes all sales activity documentation for performance tracking and targeting future sales efforts.
  • Identifies and refers business to other areas within the Bank as appropriate.
  • Strictly adheres to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Bank and regulatory standards.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • Expected to maintain a regular work schedule in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
