About The Position

The Portfolio Manager III at Cox Automotive is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of dealer clients with lines of credit ranging from $50,000 to $3,000,000 within a specified geographic territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships, optimizing portfolio performance, mitigating risks, and supporting collections on defaulted accounts. The position requires a strong understanding of the automotive and finance industries, as well as the ability to analyze financial data and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Requirements

  • BA/BS with 4+ years of related experience in finance, client-facing roles, B2B, account management, or collections required.
  • Combination of a MS degree and 2+ years of experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of the automotive and finance industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and analyzing financial statements such as profit & loss, balance sheets, and tax returns.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to identify risk indicators through data tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Salesforce.

  • Experience in the automotive and/or floorplan industry.
  • Financial knowledge and acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize each client's use of the line of credit within an assigned portfolio.
  • Achieve goals and performance targets by engaging with clients and collaborating with internal partners.
  • Educate clients on performance behaviors, self-service options, and best practices.
  • Collect and analyze client financial information to assess dealer performance.
  • Utilize historical data to identify growth opportunities and clients in financial distress.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Recovery department for risk mitigation and collections.
  • Minimize loss and maximize recovery through effective account management.
  • Conduct physical inspections of inventory and audits as necessary.
  • Document all client interactions in Salesforce as required by company KPIs.
  • Onboard new clients to ensure a positive experience.
  • Cultivate cross-functional relationships within Cox Automotive.
  • Participate in and support other projects and initiatives as required.
