About the position

The Portfolio Manager II - Market/Investor CRE is responsible for providing analytical and monitoring support for large commercial real estate loans. This role involves conducting independent creditworthiness analyses of customers and prospects, preparing comprehensive credit analyses, and monitoring the real estate portfolio to identify trends and issues. The position requires a thorough understanding of various lending facilities and commercial real estate product types, as well as collaboration with Relationship Managers and other stakeholders in the credit approval process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive credit analyses on non-owner occupied commercial real estate loans.
  • Monitor the real estate portfolio, including periodic review and analysis of financial information.
  • Identify negative trends and prepare covenant checks in support of the commercial lending function.
  • Provide analysis of real estate projects and spread financial statements as provided by Commercial Relationship Manager.
  • Prepare Loss Given Default and Probability of Default models for new and renewal opportunities.
  • Participate in Deal Team meetings with Relationship Manager, Market Approvers, and Credit Approvers.
  • Complete the Credit Approval Package via the Commercial Credit Memo in nCino and accompanying Credit Memo Narrative.
  • Review and analyze appraisals and/or market data relative to loan requests.
  • Prepare annual reviews and update Loss Given Default and Probability of Default models as required.
  • Proactively manage upcoming loan maturities and renewals working with the Relationship Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 2-10 years related experience and/or training preferred, with prior experience underwriting Commercial Real Estate loans required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including probability and statistical inference.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial spreading software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
