About The Position

The Portfolio Manager I is responsible for underwriting, structuring, documenting, and monitoring a portfolio of commercial loans. This role involves collaboration with the Commercial Loan Division Manager and various departments to develop solutions for credit and non-credit products. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex issues while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a financial institution, preferably in credit analysis and commercial banking.
• Knowledge of commercial loan processing and documentation, as well as banking regulations and policies.
• Advanced knowledge of computer operations, mainframe systems, and proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office software.

• Experience through in-house training sessions or formal education in financial industry-related curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, structure, document, and monitor an assigned portfolio of commercial loans.
• Work with the Commercial Lender to attract and expand commercial banking relationships.
• Participate in loan origination and renewal functions, including gathering financial information and preparing financial analysis.
• Provide support on loan structure, covenants, and pricing while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Participate in loan presentations for approval and assist in drafting client presentations and proposals.
• Ensure loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with bank policy and regulations.
• Coordinate closings with outside legal counsel and other vendors as appropriate.
• Monitor loan status, compliance, and handle troubled loans as necessary.
• Identify opportunities for additional credit, deposit, and non-credit solutions.
