About The Position

The position is responsible for the management of a loan portfolio as well as underwriting and presenting specialty finance loans for approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field and 2 or more years’ experience of portfolio management or 3 years in a credit/ underwriting position.
  • Work related experience should consist of a financial and customer service background.
  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related
  • Experience spreading and analyzing personal and company financing statements.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet access or the equivalent is required
  • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and service a portfolio of commercial loan relationships.
  • Ensure timely payment of loans in the portfolio.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with existing borrowers.
  • Handle reporting on loans, including such things as past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and credit requirements.
  • Provide customer service through clear communication skills, approachability, and working knowledge of all processes and bank products.
  • Manage existing client relationships.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external clients at a high level regarding sensitive matters, as well as routine matters.
  • Expand, build and maintain relationships, with a resulting high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
