About The Position

Statkraft is Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy and a growing force in the U.S. environmental commodities markets. We are committed to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future by developing innovative solutions in renewable energy and environmental products. Our Origination team plays a key role in sourcing and managing long-term portfolios of renewable energy and environmental commodities, including carbon offsets, allowances, and related instruments. As an Environmental Products PM, you will be a key contributor to Statkraft’s U.S. environmental markets strategy, with a particular focus on either US renewable energy credits or US compliance carbon products. You will manage and optimize a portfolio of various RE or Carbon product types and contracts, support deal structuring and pricing, and collaborate across teams to drive value and innovation in a dynamic and evolving market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in environmental markets, with a strong focus on environmental products and portfolio management.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. Carbon Markets & US Renewable Certificates.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience pricing and managing structured environmental contracts.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles and trading strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and personal integrity.
  • Team-oriented with a passion for sustainability and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategies in compliance carbon markets (e.g., RGGI, LCFS, CCA), including pricing, risk assessment, and market analysis.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies under various state Renewable Portfolio Standards REC markets, including pricing, risk assessment, and market analysis.
  • Manage and optimize a portfolio of either US renewable energy credits or US compliance carbon products, ensuring alignment with risk mandates and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with originators to structure and price transactions, including long-term offtake agreements, structured products, and bespoke solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a quantitative and fundamental view of the US environmental products markets. Provide insights on market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Work with power portfolio managers to identify synergies and manage cross-commodity risks and opportunities.
  • Enhance portfolio management tools and models. Contribute to the development of a robust infrastructure for environmental product valuation and risk management.
  • Engage with internal teams including trading, credit, operations, and analytics to support transaction execution and portfolio performance.
  • Translate market intelligence, regulatory changes, and customer needs into actionable strategies and product offerings.
