What this job involves: This position serves a single client as a member of a large, global sustainability team, reporting to the America's sustainability team lead to drive development and execution of energy, water, and waste management programs. You will develop comprehensive strategies to meet client energy, water, carbon footprint reduction, and landfill diversion goals while working through JLL's Integrated Facilities Management team. This role contributes to JLL's business objectives by serving as subject matter expert on energy and sustainability topics, supporting corporate reporting objectives, and driving operational improvements that enhance client satisfaction and environmental performance across extensive real estate portfolios. What your day-to-day will look like: Develop and execute energy management strategy for portfolio of sites while implementing comprehensive programs to reach sustainability objectives Act as subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests Manage energy, waste, and water data collection process within JLL's technology platform and produce tailored monthly and quarterly reports Drive operational improvements through identification and implementation of energy and sustainability performance opportunities Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices, develop case studies, and create new business opportunities Engage with JLL facility managers as key point of contact for wide-ranging environmental sustainability advice Develop and enhance systems and processes for best practice sustainability performance using utility management systems for monitoring and reporting

Requirements

  • University degree in Science, engineering, math, or related fields
  • 5-10 years of experience in Energy/Sustainability field with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Specialized technical understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems and their sustainability impact
  • Advanced understanding of energy and water conservation measures with strong ability to analyze corporate portfolio through benchmarking
  • Advanced understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting with familiarity in energy procurement and renewable energy options
  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt different perspectives
  • Leadership skills to support technical teams in solving complex problems and strategic planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting site walkthroughs to find conservation measures (ASHRAE Level 1 and 2)
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in high-pressure environments
  • Experience in preparation of tenders and work orders with ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
  • Specialized knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management, energy budgets, and ISO 14001 compliance
  • Experience working with multifunctional teams and managing small teams of energy and sustainability professionals
  • Background in environmental improvement programs and corporate sustainability initiatives
