About The Position

You will be responsible for the support, creation, and delivery of the highest level of consultative expertise in the areas of Russell Investments’ investment management and capital markets insight for PCS. In close coordination with the Consulting Directors, you will act as a central management and coordination point for addressing specific internal and external client needs and requests. This will involve securing, creating, reviewing and coordinating the appropriate internal resources and expertise in response to client needs. The position will need to be extremely analytical with respect to the creation of output in support of the Portfolio Consulting Group in the areas of investment management, product structure issues, competitor analysis, and capital markets research. You will help to leverage Consulting Directors’ time and efforts to allow more meaningful dialogue with advisors, partners, sales/service teams, etc. In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with business units across the firm, such as the Investment Division, Product, Sales & Service, Strategic Accounts, Marketing, Compliance, and Performance Reporting. As such, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of effective collaboration, a “team-first” mindset, strong work ethic, the organizational skills and flexibility to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives concurrently, as well as a desire to grow their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • FINRA licensed or willing to obtain the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 within 180 days.
  • 2-5 years of experience working directly with clients/ investors in either a consulting, sales, service , or analytical capacity
  • Strong knowledge of global capital markets, the wealth management industry, investment vehicles commonly used by financial advisors (e.g., mutual funds, model strategies, separately managed accounts), and investment process review
  • Proven technical and system skills (e.g., solid knowledge of financial concepts and performance measurement standards and the mathematics behind them; knowledge of Morningstar Direct, YCharts a plus; strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related tools)
  • Proven analytical thinking, including exploring all sources of information and providing honest analysis for effective, timely decisions
  • Strong communication skills with team members, colleagues, and clients, and the ability to find engaging ways to explain complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a team environment
  • Hands-on experience working with a Consulting Director with the opportunity to potentially progress to consulting director.
  • Self-starter and prior self-directed work experience

Responsibilities

  • Support of Consulting Directors in creation of quarterly materials, product presentations, market commentaries, competitor insights, data searches, etc.
  • Create/review/analyze the underlying data around quarterly competitor analysis for distribution to Sales & Service teams
  • Create/review commentary for market and investment products
  • Design and create customized analyses and responses to ad-hoc inquiries, to include index returns, data queries, competitor analysis, market trends, fund flows, etc.
  • Work in close partnership with Sales and Service Teams to provide client service related to Russell Investments products and competitor analyses
  • Other duties as assigned
