As a Portfolio Analytics & Strategy Manager within PNC's Decision Science organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Wilmington, DE or Chicago, IL. This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Job Description Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products. Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations. Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight. Understands and communicates regulatory and financial accounting impacts on the balance sheet to regulators and PNC control functions as appropriate. Interacts with regulators, internal audit, and management concerning credit portfolio analyses and credit risk appetite. Works with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting to track and enhance strategies. Designs / enhances standard reporting suites for regular product / portfolio reviews. Collaborates with the line of business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite and to understand its implications, as well as to establish policies and procedures governing the identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite. Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, optimization, and monitoring of credit decision strategies for consumer finance products, with a focus on credit cards; leverage segmentation, risk scoring, and performance analytics to drive portfolio profitability and manage credit risk.
  • Manage and manipulate large, complex datasets containing credit decisioning and performance attributes; utilize advanced data coding and visualization tools (e.g., Python, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint) to extract, analyze, and synthesize information for strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrate acumen for problem solving in the face of complex and unstructured information, applying analytical rigor to identify actionable insights and support business objectives.
  • Communicate complex data and analysis in a clear, concise manner to various stakeholders—including senior leadership—to enable quick, informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team executing multiple analytical projects simultaneously, fostering collaboration and ensuring high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
