About The Position

Marathon is a New York-based global investment advisor with over $23 billion of capital under management. Its corporate headquarters is in New York City, and it has offices in London, Miami, Los Angeles, and Luxembourg. Marathon is a Registered Investment Adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission. We are seeking a highly motivated analyst to work within our Opportunistic Credit team in New York serving as a junior portfolio manager. This analyst will be responsible for monitoring and reporting performance across the portfolio and helping manage risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from top tier university in a relevant field such as finance, economics (with a quantitative focus), or a quantitative discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in the financial industry.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data queries or database management is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and unquestionable integrity.
  • Highly motivated, proactive self-starter who is receptive to feedback and thrives in a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams and third-party vendors to support portfolio workflows, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that information is reported accurately in a timely manner.
  • Help lead portfolio analysis projects including fund and investment cash flow modeling, exposure tracking and responding to ad hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the quarterly closing process for the opportunistic team, which includes valuation, portfolio review and recurring reporting to investors.

Benefits

  • The average salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.
