About The Position

A car porter is responsible for moving vehicles, maintaining a clean and organized lot, and assisting with various dealership tasks like cleaning and preparing cars. Key qualifications include a valid driver's license with a clean record, a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills. Vehicle management: Drive and park cars to optimize space on the lot, move inventory between the showroom, service area, and storage. Vehicle preparation: Wash, wax, and clean new and used vehicles, prepare them for sale by adding or removing stickers, and ensure they have gas and proper fluid levels. Lot maintenance: Keep the dealership lot clean, safe, and well-organized, and assist mechanics with basic tasks. Customer assistance: Greet customers, provide shuttle services, and assist with other tasks as needed by management or sales staff. Administrative tasks: Check in new vehicles, take photos of used car arrivals, and run errands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is typically required
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential
  • The ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail to keep track of vehicles and perform cleaning tasks accurately
  • Good communication and customer service skills to interact with customers and staff
  • The ability to follow instructions, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
