We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act a Janitor for our resident facilities. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Janitor is primarily responsible for the daily cleaning and appearance of the common and non-residential areas of the facility. Periodic project work may be included in the duties of this position. Also, may be required to assist with move-in preparation, moving furniture, appliances, and other items deemed necessary.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8 hour workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred minimum experience of 1-3 years in housekeeping, preferably in a hospitality or health care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs both routine and periodic cleaning of common or non-residential areas (corridors, restrooms, offices, break rooms, utility rooms, etc) according to prescribed standards and guidelines. Tasks to include floor care (vacuuming, extracting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing and spotting), trash removal, elevator cleaning, high and low dusting, cleaning of walls and other surfaces as assigned.
  • Polices grounds for trash and removes trash from facilities. Washes windows, provides resident assistance with carrying baggage cleans resident carpets and may assist housekeeper in resident homes.
  • Provides support for cleanup of leaks, spills, floods, fire, etc.
  • Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
