Position Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Porter involve the upkeep of the property in order to enhance and maintain its curb appeal. The Porter will also assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work M-F schedule 7-3:30PM with half hour lunch.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Light Maintenance knowledge a plus
  • Prior experience working as a porter in a hospitality environment.
  • Time Management: Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently; concentrates his/her efforts on the most important priority; adeptly handles several tasks at one.
  • Problem Solving : Breaks down problems into smaller components, understand underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues, understand the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.
  • Ethical conduct: Serving with integrity and respect in personal and organizational practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs custodial work within the grounds of the community, fire towers, offices, garage areas and other building interiors.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polished floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
  • Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polished light fixtures.
  • Washes and replaces blinds.
  • Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
  • May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
  • May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
  • Trash removal, clean grounds along with garages, walkways, offices and fire towers.
