Breaking Ground is an organization dedicated to ending homelessness by providing supportive housing and services. They operate nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, upstate New York, and Connecticut. Their programs include Street to Home outreach and transitional housing resources, helping people get and stay on the path to a permanent home. Edwin’s Place in Brooklyn, for example, offers 126 units of permanent supportive housing to low-income New Yorkers, veterans, and chronically homeless individuals, including some with mental illness. Examples of common areas include offices, multi-purpose rooms, roof deck, garden, trash collection area, lobby, fitness room, and sidewalks. Tenant apartments will also be cleaned. This position has a 35-hour work week.
